Event organiser receipt template

Door sales at a workshop, class or pop-up, where the numbered receipt doubles as proof of entry. Admission tax is a real, separately named local tax in a number of cities.

The lines a event organiser actually bills

These are the preset line items this page loads into the maker. The price bands are typical, not prescriptive — set your own. The tax column is guidance: materials are taxable in most states and service labour often is not, which is a real per-state distinction covered on the state requirements pages.

The format this trade issues

A numbered admission receipt that works as both the entry token and the proof of purchase.

Get Receipt renders it as Event ticket sale Box-office slip: performance and seat block, per-ticket price, service charge, and the admission QR at the foot.

Paid in cash?

No federal rule obliges you to issue a receipt for an ordinary cash sale, but issue one anyway: it is your record as much as the customer’s, and a sequential number that runs across the year is what makes a quarter reconcile. The cash-sale guide covers the three situations that do create a duty.

Common questions

Can a receipt be the ticket?
For a door sale, yes — a sequential number and the event name is enough to act as both. Keep the sequence continuous so takings reconcile against the count on the door.
Is there tax on admission?
A number of cities and states levy an admissions or amusement tax at its own rate. Where one applies it prints as its own named line, not folded into a general sales-tax line.
How do I handle a refund at the door?
Print a refund document that references the original receipt number and shows the amount as a negative, rather than voiding the original. The original stays in the sequence; the refund explains it.

Card details on this receipt

Get Receipt prints at most four card digits and has no expiry field anywhere in the app. FACTA forbids printing more than the last five digits, or the expiration date at all, on a cardholder receipt — so a violating receipt is not something this tool can be made to produce, by hand or by the assistant.
