Common questions
- Do I owe a receipt if I already sent an invoice?
- Send both. The invoice requested the payment; the receipt confirms it arrived, on what date and by what method. A business client’s bookkeeper needs the second document to close the payable.
- How itemised does it need to be?
- Enough that a reader who was not in the project can tell what was delivered. “Design work — $2,000” invites a question; “Landing page design, 3 concepts + 2 revision rounds — $2,000” does not.
- Is design service taxable?
- Usually not, but stock assets and licences you pass through can be, and a few states tax digital deliverables. Keeping pass-through costs on their own line makes whichever answer applies easy to charge correctly.
Card details on this receipt
Get Receipt prints at most four card digits and has no expiry field anywhere in the app. FACTA forbids printing more than the last five digits, or the expiration date at all, on a cardholder receipt — so a violating receipt is not something this tool can be made to produce, by hand or by the assistant.
