Photography receipt template

A shoot is a service, the prints are goods, and the digital files are a third thing your state has its own opinion about. Deposits and balance payments each need their own receipt.

Free, no signup, no watermark. PDF, PNG and JPG export at the format’s real paper width.

The lines a photography actually bills

These are the preset line items this page loads into the maker. The price bands are typical, not prescriptive — set your own. The tax column is guidance: materials are taxable in most states and service labour often is not, which is a real per-state distinction covered on the state requirements pages.

The format this trade issues

An A5 document: session description, deliverables, deposit and balance lines, and a usage-licence note.

Get Receipt renders it as Freelancer invoice-receipt A5 service invoice-receipt: letterhead, client block, billable lines, bank-transfer settlement.

The full field order, alignment grid and physical spec for that format is documented on the service invoice-receipt spec page.

Common questions

Are digital photo files taxable?
That is a live question in many states. Some tax digital products explicitly; others tax the whole sitting fee when tangible prints are delivered and not when they are not. Separate the session fee, the digital delivery and the physical prints so you can apply whatever your state decides.
How do I receipt a deposit and a balance?
Two receipts. The first records the deposit and the balance remaining; the second records the balance payment and shows the deposit as an applied credit, so the two documents sum to the contract price rather than doubling it.
Should the usage licence be on the receipt?
A one-line summary, yes — what the client may do with the images. It is not a substitute for the contract, but it stops the most common misunderstanding from surfacing a year later.

Card details on this receipt

Get Receipt prints at most four card digits and has no expiry field anywhere in the app. FACTA forbids printing more than the last five digits, or the expiration date at all, on a cardholder receipt — so a violating receipt is not something this tool can be made to produce, by hand or by the assistant.
